(NEW YORK) Holiday season est là...again! Naturally, The Daily demands to know: How are you spending Passover?
Alison Brod: "I spent the first night with my family. During tonight's seder, I will be at a Food Network taping of a new show that I'm a judge on, 24 Hour Restaurant Battle. It's going to be a challenge to observe with the Italian theme..."
Fern Mallis: "I celebrated Passover last night at the first Seder at the home of a very dear friend, Steve Gold, along with designer Jeffrey Banks, who is now doing huge tartan, plaid and madras collections on HSN. Steve’s a great cook. We had delicious homemade chicken liver with handmade (though not by him) matzohs from Brooklyn. Perfect matzoh ball soup, homemade gefilte fish, roast chicken and the best brisket I’ve ever had (apparently marinated in beer, brown sugar and some other stuff---still trying to get the recipe), a variety of appropriate vegetables, then amazing macaroons, and kosher chocolate layer cake from Bruce’s (of Great Neck and First Avenue). We read parts of the Haggadah, stressing the important messages of freedom, and how important that is, and helping those who are underprivileged (our new Health plan), and keeping our heritage alive a little longer. Tonight, it's dinner at Jean-Georges' newest restaurant, ABC, at ABC Carpet & Home."
Rebecca Minkoff: "I spent it with two friends in Dumbo. We did the 30 minute Seder via the helpful Facebook Haggadah and then spent way too much time on Chatroulette."
Stefani Greenfield: "Passover is important to me because it’s a time to celebrate family and heritage. Last night, we had a 25-person Seder at my sister-in-law Karen’s house. Tonight, the Seder is at my mother’s house with my husband and fabulous family. The best part is being able to teach and pass on my family’s traditions to my daughter Theodora."
Jeffrey Kalinsky: "I flew home to Charleston, South Carolina and had Seder with my family. I try to make it home every year, and this year I spent it with my mom, dad, brother and cousins."
Liz Lange: “Passover for me was last night. My whole family is in NYC, where I grew up, and we did a big Seder at my aunt and uncle's townhouse on the Upper East Side. I am crazily at work on my new Completely Me by Liz Lange for HSN line, so I can't be away this week.”
Rachel Antonoff: "My brother Jack's band is usually on tour during Passover, and my favorite tradition is visiting them and having a makeshift Seder in a conference room of some random hotel. This year, we’ve had our Seder at the Westin in Columbus, Ohio, with stuff we got at Whole Foods. I hid the afikomen at the front desk. We kind of make it up as we go and it’s become a really cozy tradition."
Charlotte Ronson: "I usually get together with my family and have a Seder. We all go through it in the English and Hebrew. We always have so much fun spending time together and we take in any stragglers that aren't home for the holidays. But this year, I am spending the week in the Caribbean."
Shoshanna Gruss: "I'm down in Palm Beach for the holidays with my whole family! So nice. My daughter did the four questions last night. Soooo cute. I was such a proud Mama!"
Ali Wise: "I love Passover. I celebrate with my family and friends. This year is at my aunt Nina's house with a festive Seder. Her table is always beautiful and we go through the traditional prayers and of course the four questions and we always hide the matzoh."
