(NEW YORK) Is Marc Jacobs following in the path of Miuccia Prada?

Marc Jacobs’s fit new figure isn’t the only thing that’s evolved in recent months. The trendsetting designer is moving his Marc by Marc Jacobs show from New York to London, and plans to stage a runway show during London Fashion Week on February 16 to coincide with the debut of his 2,800-sq.-ft. Marc Jacobs Collection store on Mount Street in the city’s Mayfair district.

Jacobs is looking to give his secondary line a fresh, new identity, and just like Prada, who moved her Miu Miu show from Milan to Paris two seasons ago, the relocation is the most significant first step, though it is understood that he will bring his Marc by Marc Jacobs line back to New York next fall.

Closer to home, Jacobs has just wrapped production on his upcoming Spring 2007 Collection campaign, photographed by Juergen Teller in Los Angeles, which, in a dramatic turn, features 12-year-old Charlotte’s Web star Dakota Fanning. The actress was shot in a wardrobe of custom-made pieces due to her petite size.
