(NEW YORK) When it comes to hosting the ultimate garage sale, no one does it quite like Sir Elton John. The legendary singer and proponent for AIDS research is reprising Elton’s Closet, a massive five-day public sale of clothing and accessories from his personal wardrobe, with partner David Furnish. The couple will be on hand for a special ribbon cutting ceremony at Rockefeller Center on April 10. Following the ceremony, Elton’s Closet will be open to the public on the concourse level of Rockefeller Center from April 11-15. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Elton John AIDS Foundation.

Some 10,000 pieces of collectible clothing and accessories from current season to gently-worn vintage pieces will be available from designers like Dior by Hedi Slimane, Louis Vuitton, Tom Ford for Yves Saint Laurent, Comme des Garçons, Prada, Gucci, and, of course, Versace.

Saks Fifth Avenue will feature a very special selection of pieces representing the singer’s iconic style in their windows for the duration of the event. The display will present a small sampling of the vast amount of iconic merchandise, including conservative bespoke English suits, and the green-and-pink polka-dotted suit custom made by Richard James, that John famously wore to the 2001 Grammy Awards during a controversial performance with Eminem.

The event is hosted by Tishman Speyer, co-owners of Rockefeller Center, and co-sponsored by Top of the Rock and Saks Fifth Avenue.
