Generous Jewels
(NEW YORK) Bulgari’s 125th anniversary festivities have been in full swing since May’s blowout bash at the Castel Sant’Angelo in Rome, but the celebration is far from finished. On December 8, the iconic luxury house will take Christie’s in New York, when 11 one-of-a-kind pieces and 7 limited-edition timepieces (which have toured the world after their exhibition at Il Palazzo delle Esposizioni in Rome) will be auctioned. One hundred percent of the proceeds will benefit Save the Children’s Rewrite the Future campaign, a cause that the company has been supporting all year through a variety of initiatives.
The auction, which is expected to bring in at least the collection’s estimated value of $4 million, will be the culmination of Bulgari’s effort to raise €10 million for the charity, which provides education for children living in conflict-affected areas. Naturally, the promise of a glimpse of the stunning pieces has attracted many a jewelry lover--Isabella Rossellini, Ricky Martin, Patricia Field, Stefano Tonchi, Gilles Mendel, and more are expected to attend next week’s auction.
