(NEW YORK) Estée Lauder face Hilary Rhoda should prepare for a change of pace--there’s a new man on the Estée team. Tom Pecheux, the renowned makeup artist who’s been closely associated with Mario Testino and Carine Roitfeld since the early 1990s, has been named creative makeup director of Estée Lauder, the flagship brand of The Estée Lauder Companies, Inc. Pecheux will spearhead the brand's artistic direction, beginning with a Spring 2010 collection of high-impact color products and a new advertising campaign starring Rhoda.

“We are incredibly excited to partner with Tom Pecheux,” said Lauder global brand president Jane Hertzmark Hudis. “Tom will add a new energy, style, and fashion edge to Estée Lauder makeup. His intuitive sense of color and expertise in global beauty trends will help us redefine modern color in a bold new way.” Pecheux, who contributes regularly to Vanity Fair and V as well as the Italian, French and American editions of Vogue, has created runway looks and advertising campaigns for the likes of Givenchy, Balmain, and Yves Saint Laurent (remember that glossy black lip for Fall 2008?). He frequently works alongside photographers such as Mario Testino, Patrick Demarchelier, Craig McDean, and Inez Van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin. “It’s a great privilege to work with the Estée Lauder brand,” said Pecheux in a statement. “We are both dedicated to making women look and feel beautiful. I know this will be a great creative partnership.”
