Ennio's Space
(NEW YORK) Could Suvi, Toni, Natalia and the rest of well-paid campaign models have something to worry about? Perhaps. For the fall/winter 2008 C'N'C Costume National campaign, designer Ennio Capasa looked to none other than MySpace for models. The notion to use non-models in campaigns is hardly new, but in this new social networking incarnation, Capasa put out a casting call on his MySpace page and then personally selected his favorites. Twelve individuals from diverse backgrounds were chosen, and their creative talent was a factor in the selection process. “Social networking is one of the most interesting phenomena today on the Internet," said Capasa. "It represents the great change and dynamism of a society that is increasingly a compulsive consumer of communication and contacts."
Photographed by Stefan Ruiz and styled by Alistair McKimm, the campaign was shot this spring at the Metropolitan Building in Long Island City, Queens. Its run is slated to launch in September issues.
