A Positive Momentum
(NEW YORK) Alexander McQueen has plenty of reasons to be high-spirited this season. Not only did the designer show a blockbuster couture-like fall collection—presented the same day his company announced it had achieved profitability, no less—but his long-awaited Los Angeles flagship, a 3,100-square-foot emporium situated at the corner of Melrose Avenue and Melrose Place, will finally bow this May. Perhaps in a move to ride the wave of positive momentum, McQueen, in lieu of the past salon-like trunk shows he has staged in New York to show his creations to clients, has decided to stage a mini, albeit less formal, fashion show, of approximately 20 edited looks on models drawn from the 42 looks shown on his recent Paris runway. The seated show for about 120 clients and, this season, a larger contingent of press, will take place at the Milk Studios penthouse on March 26.
