(NEW YORK) Book your tickets now. While The New Yorker will release its ninth-annual festival schedule in its September 17 issue on newsstands Sept. 10, chock-full of nearly 60 events spanning a three-day period, fashion-minded folk will want to clear their calendars for the afternoon of October 6. That’s when, at 4 p.m. at Cedar Lake Dance Studios, Colleen Atwood, Patrizia von Brandenstein, Patricia Field, and William Ivey Long will be on hand for “Costume Design,” an open forum discussion on the evolution of both small and big screen wardrobing. Judith Thurman will moderate. Also scheduled, and sure to be an instant sellout, is “Inside the Artist’s Studio,” where Jeff Koons will talk with Calvin Tomkins and Dodie Kazanjian, both of whom will accompany the contemporary artist on a guided tour of his colorful studio, capped out with an intimate brunch Koons will host.

But the literary-meets-fashion world doesn’t stop there. On Oct. 24, on the eve of Alber Elbaz receiving his Fashion Group International award, the Lanvin designer will be the focus of “T Style Talks,” an intimate evening chat and Q&A moderated by Stefano Tonchi and Lynn Hirschberg. Hopefully the event’s location, the new Times building on West 41st Street, won’t prevent the 2005 CFDA Award winner from hightailing it through crosstown traffic to The Bowery Hotel, where Iman and Barneys New York chief Howard Socol have planned a pre-party celebrating Elbaz’s accolade, promising lots of “grub, dancing, and shenanigans.”
