Lofty Aspirations
(LOS ANGELES) Plenty of pretty young things ascended to the penthouse of the Chateau Marmont on Wednesday night to toast the latest exclusive stylist collaboration from LOFT. Girly touches like fresh peonies, framed fashion images and sparkly accents transformed the residential-esque hotel room into a modern girl’s chic suite for the night, and played host to an informal fashion presentation for some of the city’s most powerful trendsetters and fashion insiders. The line worked with stylists Tina Chai, Kate Young, Joanne Blades and Alia Ahmed-Yahia to breathe new life into the light, playful, feminine clothes at a reasonable price, and L.A.-based celebrity stylist Nicole Chavez hosted the evening to show off the fabulous new wares.
Decked out in head-to-toe Loft, Chavez, who styled three ‘California chic’ looks especially for the event, posed in a nautical-inspired long cardigan, skinny jeans and a lilac ruffled blouse alongside a smattering of Young Hollywood starlets and rallied for the collection. “I absolutely adore this line. I think its really chic, accessible and totally effortless. That’s my philosophy with styling…your clothes should just be an extension of who you are and I feel like Loft embodies that,” she quipped. “Seriously, I’m obsessed with this sweater! I wear it day to night and Kristen Bell and I have been looking at everything together and it’s so her style. Rachel Bilson, too. It’s so easy. I know all the girls are going to love it!”
The penthouse party spilled out onto the balcony, where stylish guests including Emanuelle Chriqui, Brittany Snow, Jessica Stroup, Arielle Kebbel, Briana Evigan, Shantel Van Santen, Corey Lynn Calter, Emily Current, Merritt Elliott, Jeanne Yang, George Blodwell, Amanda Lutrell Garrigus and more admired the clothes (worn on strategically-placed models clustered throughout the suite) and noshed on savory bites of rock shrimp, risotto balls and mushroom tartlets.
Out on the balcony, Bell delightfully eyed a tweed hat from the collection worn on a model nearby. “I am such a hat girl! I wish people still dressed up like they used to…men in suit coats and vests and women in dresses and hats. Nobody does that in L.A.,” the actress sighed with a laugh. Keeping her focus on fashion, she glanced around and grinned, “This party feels like a lot like what the clothing is all about. It’s just a lot of cute ladies, coming together casually…having fun, smiling and keeping things light!”
