(MIAMI) “The pink carpet was my idea. Much better than red, non?” asked Ines de la Fressange last night during the grand opening of the Roger Vivier boutique at Bal Harbour. The shop is the brand's second boutique in the United States, after the New York outpost on Madison Avenue. Friends including Robin Thicke, Paula Patton, Leticia Herrera Grenedene, Ines Rivero and Munisha Underhill all graced the rosy tapis, many donning the signature buckle in celebration of all things Vivier.

De la Fressange, who joined forces with designer Bruno Frisoni to become the brand ambassador for Roger Vivier, considered the evening a perfect reintroduction to Miami. “I haven’t been here in years, and I wasn’t very familiar with Bal Harbour until recently," she revealed. "I am so impressed. It's just wonderful to have our store here. Our neighbors are very chic!” Magenta clutches and metallic heels illuminated the cozy shop, as guests sifted through the confections while careful not to spill their champagne. “I came shopping here with my 5 year-old the other day and she picked out a pair of silver python heels,” offered Underhill. “She’s not allowed to wear heels yet, of course, but she has been trying mine on since she was two. She learned to walk in heels!”

Thicke, however, doesn’t claim to be a natural when it comes to stilettos. “I have worn high heels before,” he confessed, to the surprise of wife Patton. “It was a joke and a very painful experience. Plus, I’m a men’s size 13 so I probably should have borrowed from Lisa Leslie.” “We’re window shopping,” Patton explained, as Thicke good-naturedly pointed towards a feathered pair of heels and declared, “I like the frillies!” Frequenting Miami up to a dozen times a year, the two are true SoBe enthusiasts. Patton is expecting, and so will their child be a beach baby? Thicke didn’t miss a beat. “Oh yeah, I’m going to show the baby a real Miami experience. Take the baby to all the nightclubs from LIV to Mynt. It’s on!”
