Nightlife Lives
(NEW YORK) The golden days of Bungalow 8 may be over, but there’s a new lounge on the West Side poised to take its place. The Griffin celebrated its grand opening at 50 Gansevoort Street Thursday night, and the crowds drawn were, naturally, of the chicet sort. Hosting duties were shared by Amy Sacco, Julia Restoin Roitfeld (sporting yet another body-con look in that Alex Wang dress), Sophia Hesketh and more, who danced their way around the 19th century salon-inspired, Marc Dizon-designed space.
Sting held court in one corner of the lounge, with Salman Rushdie and a lovely ladyfriend close by. Kate Hudson came late in the night, greeting Sacco warmly. Hollywood types Uma Thurman, Catherine Keener, Lindsay Price mixed and mingled with chicsters Yigal Azrouel, Adam Lippes, Elise Øverland, Alexandra Richards, Rachel Zoe, and Giambattista Valli--in town, no doubt, for Monday’s Met Gala. Hilary Rhoda and fellow IMG model faces Luca Gadjus, Jessica Gomes, and Heidi Mount mixed and mingled, while sipping their drinks—served by Catherine Malandrino-clad servers, natch. The Daily left the newly-opened spot well past midnight, and crowds were still forming on the Meatpacking District sidewalks outside. Now what of the bouncer?
