(NEW YORK) “Don’t worry, this isn’t America’s Most Smartest Model,” joked Mary Alice Stephenson Monday night, as she joined friends and family in toasting Erin Fetherston on the success she’s achieved since her Ecco Domani Fashion Foundation award, which includes a CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund nomination and a collaboration with Target’s GO! International collection that debuts this weekend. “Heart is not all it takes; she has talent,” said Stephenson. “And as of this weekend, she’ll be a household name!”

Fetherston was glowing from the attention, but it turned out to be a busier week than anyone anticipated. “This is a celebration in itself, but the real celebration was finding someplace to live,” the newly transplanted New Yorker, who’ll learn the results of her CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund nomination on Thursday, admitted. “We had no idea it would be so hard! We just moved after living out of our office!”

Among the close friends gathered at the Luxe Laboratory, Robert Verdi’s new fully functional event space, to sip on special Fether Fizzes made of Ecco Domani Pinot Grigio, sage leaves, pear juice, and apple cider, were Fetherston’s fiancé Hedi Ferjani, Sarah Sophie Flicker, actress Mallory June, not to mention a slew of people from the designer's creative team. “It’s the ultimate speakeasy,” remarked Verdi, himself a former Ecco Domani Fashion Foundation spokesperson, showing off the infinity tub which has water flowing from the ceiling, a masseuse table, and makeup stations. “In the days of technology, BlackBerrys, cell phones, email, this kind of intimate environment is totally lost.”

His 2,000-square-foot space with purple hardwood floors allows for only 50 at parties and 12 for dinner, but boasts a fully staffed kitchen, library, terrace, and living room, making the night’s fête the perfect close to a hectic week.
