Meet the New W Cover Models
We know, we know---you're still working your way through those September magazines, but this morning Stefano Tonchi gave The Daily an exclusive little preview of W's October issue. For the third straight time, a group of actors are on the cover. This time, Blue Valentine stars (and extremely likely Oscar contenders) Michelle Williams and a clean-shaven Ryan Gosling pick up the baton in the story, shot by Inez van Lamsweerde & Vinoodh Matadin. The issue features one other coup: the very first portrait of Rooney Mara since she scored that juicy The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo role.

Get Your Gucci-Clad Sea Legs
Because more important than your bag matching your shoes is for your boat to match your shoes (naturally). Enter the the Aquariva by Gucci, a made-to-order yacht that was unveiled at the International Cannes Boat Show yesterday and will travel on to Milan for Fashion Week on September 22. Tendancies toward seasickness? Not to worry. Frida Giannini has also created an accessories collection (including boat shoes, flip-flops, a watch, a towel and a tote) designed to match the Aquariva---perfect for cruising on or off the water.

Quote of The Daily: Why You Won't See Michael Roberts This Fashion Week
“[The front row at Fashion Week] has been changing for a while, since Billy Boy and that funny little girl who was 13 and looked 97 came along. I certainly don’t see myself growing older, fatter and grumpier in the front row, which a lot of my dearly beloved colleagues tend to do." ---Michael Roberts to The New York Times. (Chic Report note: We know who Billy Boy and the funny little girl are, but his dearly beloved colleagues? It's so much more fun to guess, non?)

Up, Up and Away
Sometimes big things do come in small packages. Don't be fooled by the tiny proportions of these colorful lollipop-sized balloon speakers. And for a mere $45, who can resist a little kitsch? THE DETAILS: Kidrobot, $45

En Pointe
At first glance these lace-ups look like an oxford/pointe shoe hybrid, but these chaussures, created by Japanese footwear designer Koji Horigome, are more sculptural than they are practical. They look like they may pinch a bit, proving that flats aren’t always the comfortable choice.
